Independence Day is right around the corner and oh say can you see how excited we are? This weekend, people all over the country and in our corner of New York State will be celebrating American freedom and progress with loved ones, firecrackers, and lots of red, white, and blue.

Of course, this holiday would be incomplete without classic American food, so fire up the grill — or don’t, because the Hudson Valley’s restaurants have you covered. While many places are closed in honor of the Fourth of July, these eateries are offering dine-in and to-go specials that are sure to have you pledging allegiance.

The Dutch Ale House

Saugerties

If you’re looking for alternative American fare to barbecue, look no further than the Dutch Ale House in Saugerties. From 12 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, run (don’t walk) to The Dutch for a Fourth of July party complete with Maine lobster rolls, homemade corn dogs, funnel cakes, and buckets of beer to help you kick back and relax. Still not convinced? There will also be corn hole and giant Jenga.

Gigante

Eastchester

Can’t wait until the Fourth? Kick off Independence Day weekend early on Friday, July 2 at this stylish restaurant and bar in Westchester surrounded by lights and live music by JonLuc. This event won’t begin until after dinner and the party won’t stop until 1 a.m. You must be 21+ to attend, and don’t forget to get festive; Gigante specifically requests that guests come donned in their best red, white, and blue attire.

The Greens at Copake

Copake

This Sunday, Copake Country Club hosts a July fourth event that’s sure to please everyone — except the pig, that is. Smoking J’s BBQ will be roasting a whole hog, served alongside beef brisket, barbecued chicken, corn on the cob, red potato salad, barbecue beans, and dinner rolls. Chow down outside either at a table or picnic-style while listening to live music by The Real Men and taking in the scenic view. Tickets are required and picnic blankets are BYO.

Handsome Devil Barbecue

Newburgh

Want the fanfare of a Fourth of July barbecue without the hassle of preparing the food? Let this Newburgh staple do the heavy lifting for you. Order by July 2 to get your barbecue classics for pickup on the Fourth. Can’t decide what to choose? Try the family platter for $95, which includes brisket, pulled pork or turkey, sausage, sides, and more, or upgrade to the family and friends platter for even more grilled goodness.

Pier 701

Piermont

Nothing is more American than the combining of cultures, so this Fourth of July calls for fusion food. Pier 701 serves up a special menu of Mediterranean-American dishes including blackened salmon, New England clam chowder, burrata, and P.E.I. mussels. With incredible panoramic views of the Hudson River from the outdoor deck, you just might catch a glimpse of fireworks over the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

Simply Gourmet

Poughkeepsie

Looking for a go-to to-go spot to cater your Independence Day eats? This Poughkeepsie favorite offers a fixed menu with elevated classics like honey-ginger barbecue shrimp, street corn salad, and strawberry shortcake available in serving sizes of 3-4, 5-6, or 8-10 people. Order now to pick up this holiday food bundle a day early with plenty of time to spare before the festivities begin.

Twin Star Orchards

New Paltz

Pay close attention now because this option comes with free cider tastings. Pre-order soon before Twin Star Orchards sells out of your choice of either a pork sandwich or a pork platter, both with sweet Hawaiian rolls and coleslaw at the orchard’s celebratory pig roast. There will also be wood-fired pizzas, burgers, and yes, free Brooklyn Cider House tastings. Enjoy your holiday spread while listening to live outdoor music by the Cabinetmakers from 1-4 p.m. and Carly Walsh from 4:30-7 p.m.
