FROM THE SPRING OF 2016 through the dry summer months and into harvest season and the changing leaves of autumn, I flew my DJI Phantom drone over more than a dozen farms, orchards and other locations in the Hudson Valley. The project reflects seven months of agricultural life, as shot above the ground. While my camera hovered 12 to 300 feet over rich soil and neatly planted rows of produce, I recorded the women and the men who planted the seeds, fed the cattle, crushed the grapes and cared for the bees from Gardiner to RedHook—the heart and soul of the “Eat Local” movement.
Come fly with me, above the Hudson Valley.
