Nestled in the heart of Jeffersonville, Cuppie Cake Desserts brings a fresh twist to classic bakery delights, infusing local flavors and family-inspired creativity into every treat.

Sullivan County’s newest sweet spot, Cuppie Cake Desserts, celebrated its grand opening on November 9, offering a menu that showcases a diverse and vibrant selection of baked goods infused with the local flavors of the Hudson Valley.

Owner Heather DeGori started the business, which was originally dubbed K&H Confections, with her sister after graduating from the Wilton School of Cake Decorating in 2014. As life’s twists took both her and her sister on a different path, leading to a temporary closure of the business, DeGori reignited her passion for baking.

She rebranded the company as Cuppie Cake Desserts, a name inspired by her daughter’s nickname for cupcakes, marking a new chapter in her baking career. “It was the perfect fit for what I wanted to create—a place that shares my love for baking and brings beautiful, delicious desserts to the community,” emphasizes DeGori.

A Sweet Corner of Jeffersonville

Jeffersonville holds a special place in DeGori’s heart, as she grew up in the village. Her deep-rooted connection to the area greatly influenced her decision to establish Cuppie Cake Desserts there, since it allows her to give back to the community that shaped her early years.

“Jeffersonville will always be home to me—it’s where I grew up, where my roots are, and where I’ve always felt a deep, heartfelt connection,” says DeGori.

Not only is Cuppie Cake Desserts a haven for anyone with a sweet tooth, but it’s also an ideal destination to make custom orders for birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions, including DeGori’s well-known “Just Because” treats. She describes these treats as essential for those moments when no specific reason is needed to enjoy something sweet. “I couldn’t keep all the sweet creations to myself! Sometimes you just need a treat for no reason at all, right?” adds DeGori.

At Cuppie Cake Desserts, the menu is a vibrant tapestry of traditional and innovative treats that resonate with both nostalgia and adventure. Specific offerings change frequently to reflect seasonal availability of ingredients, but certain sweet staples can always be found in the shop. From classic chocolate chip cookies to specialty cupcakes and inventive cakesicles, each dessert is designed to surprise and delight. The bakery’s standout offering, the Crookie, showcases DeGori’s creative spirit. The Crookie is a delightful mixture of a croissant and a cookie, and it’s worth ordering to understand just how decadent a pairing of the two desserts can be.

Community and sustainability are at the heart of Cuppie Cake Desserts. By using eggs from Brey’s Farm, fresh apples from local orchards, and coffee from 2 Queens Coffee, DeGori ensures that her bakery not only serves delicious desserts but also supports local agriculture and businesses. As the bakery grows, DeGori looks forward to increasing her use of locally sourced ingredients, further strengthening the community throughout Sullivan County.

As far as the freshness of these sweet creations goes, DeGori ensures that ingredients are purchased weekly to maintain the highest quality in her sweet creations. Additionally, by strategically using overlapping ingredients in various recipes, she minimizes waste, further demonstrating her commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

A Welcoming Space

Cuppie Cake Desserts offers a bright and lively atmosphere in which the smell of fresh-baked treats fills the air, promoting a warm and homey ambiance for all guests. DeGori emphasizes, “We want everyone who walks in to feel like family.” This sentiment is a cornerstone of the bakery’s philosophy, ensuring that each visitor experiences a sense of comfort and warmth as soon as they step through the door.

Workshops are another staple at Cuppie Cake Desserts. Each month, DeGori curates a variety of seasonal workshops that invite guests to dive into the world of baking. This February, the bakery hosts several themed classes, including a Mommy & Me cake class on February 2 and 9; a Lover’s Cake & Sip on February 8, which features decorating heart-shaped cakes; and a Galentine’s Day dessert brunch on February 16. These workshops offer a unique opportunity to learn baking skills directly from the baker herself. To find out more about these events and secure a spot, RSVP on the store’s website.

At Cuppie Cake Desserts, the bakery’s success is in the passion and personal touch that DeGori brings to every dessert she creates. “When you visit us, it’s not just about getting a sweet treat—it’s about creating an experience that’s warm, welcoming, and full of joy,” she enthuses.

Looking ahead, DeGori has ambitious plans for Cuppie Cake Desserts. Her goal is for the bakery to become a recognized name throughout the Hudson Valley and New York, a place people eagerly seek out for exceptional desserts. She plans to expand the bakery’s reach to include more weddings, events, and catering opportunities as well.

Cuppie Cake Desserts welcomes guests on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check the schedule for upcoming events and special bakery happenings to enjoy a full day of treats, a variety of baked goods, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
