Can’t stomach dairy? It’s exciting to find a dish that doesn’t sacrifice flavor while being dairy-free. Individuals sensitive to butter, cheese, and milk should check out these dishes during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. As always, be sure to mention any allergies or dietary restrictions when dining at these locations.

A truly indulgent dish, the half rack of whiskey ribs is served with coleslaw and hand-cut fries.

The Bird & Bottle Inn

Garrison

It’s impossible to go wrong at The Bird & Bottle Inn. This Garrison eatery is conscious about allergens on the menu, with a lot of options to opt out of milk-based ingredients in dishes. The spring pea croissant delights as a first course on the restaurant week menu and can be made vegan. The spring salad, minus the feta cheese, is another light bite that hits the spot. For an entrée, the butterfly pea flower risotto is a showstopper, with fava beans, asparagus, leek puree, and herbs. The main can be made vegan as well to avoid dairy. For a sweet ending to a fine meal, the lemon poppy shortcake is not to be missed, with vegan whipped cream and macerated strawberries. Or keep it simple and indulge in a seasonal sorbet.
