I will always be a fall girl, but there’s something pretty special about winter in the Hudson Valley. The crowds have diminished, crackling fires warm and illuminate many of my favorite restaurants, and soul-soothing comfort food is the order of the day whether I’m cooking in or going out.

To help you plan where to eat when you bundle up and venture out, we’ve put together a look at the region’s best new restaurants. Make a reservation; perhaps you’ll find a new favorite!

Also in store, a comprehensive guide to the perfect gift for the foodie in your life. Some ideas are deliciously edible, while others are must-have tools and homeware for amateur chefs and pro party hosts.

While you flip through the issue, please accept a hearty thanks from all of us to all of you for being supportive and consistent readers over the years. Going forward, this publication will be reimagined within the pages of Hudson Valley magazine, where you’ ll find the Restaurant Week details you’ve come to rely upon in the spring and fall, along with special culinary content that highlights the unique bounty of our region.

On that note, cheers for an easy winter and fresh, new beginnings come the spring!
