I am endlessly amazed by the talent, energy, creativity and drive exhibited by Hudson Valley chefs and restaurateurs. Case in point: The family behind Four Brothers Pizza Inn. Not only does the ambitious clan own nine pizzerias, they also operate Hotel Caravana—an airstream hotel and drive-in movie theater in Amenia—and the Millerton Inn. Their homemade Greek salad dressing became so popular that they’ve bottled it for purchase, and they are hard at work at a soon-to-open eatery in Millbrook. You can read all about them in “Empire of the Suns” on page 26.

This issue, like every Valley Table edition, keeps you up to date on new restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and food shops you need to know about in our “Table Talk” section which starts on page 19. We have four reviews to share with you. After reading about Boneyard Cantina, I’m excited to try it—I love Mexican food and I love visiting the charming town of Warwick. Plus the interior of the space looks super cool. A recent addition to “Table Talk” is “Quick Bites,” which is compiled by senior associate editor and enthusiastic foodie Francesca Furey. Her quarterly column will clue you into all the important restaurant and bar openings (and closings), menu changes, and more. Check it out on page 25—I was encouraged to see that plant-based mini-chain Moonburger (they’re in Kingston and New Paltz) will be setting up shop at the Poughkeepsie Mobil on Route 9. Healthy food options at the gas station? Only in the Hudson Valley!
