Satisfy your craving for fresh, seasonal peaches in the Hudson Valley with these colorful dishes from local restaurants.

When summertime rolls around, peach season is never too far behind. Surprisingly, this juicy fruit can be used in a multitude of ways and brightens up any plate. So, if you find yourself with a sudden urge for peaches, check out one of these local spots.

Art Cafe

Nyack

Located in a bright blue house with red detailing, Art Cafe lives up to its name. If you’re looking to start your day off with peaches, try the Bellini breakfast cocktail, a mixture between peach puree and prosecco. The Rockland County eatery also serves Blue Nun, an authentic white wine with a flavor profile of peach, green apple, and walnut, as well as an organic pinot grigio with notes of peach, citrus, and apple.

Hudson Hil’s Café

Cold Spring

If you want to bring the joy of peaches to the whole family, order Hudson Hil’s peach pie, which is perfect for any summer occasion. Orders must be placed 48 hours in advance. P.S. Don’t skip out on a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

Hudson Valley Pantry

Select locations

Since 2010, Hudson Valley Pantry has been selling its jams at farmers’ markets across the Valley. Not too long after launching, the brand started developing more products like pickles and salsa. Next time you find yourself at a farmers’ market, be sure to look out for the peach cobbler jam that has two simple ingredients: peaches and pure vanilla extract. Or, if you want something with a little more tang, try the peach mango salsa, which pairs well with pork chops, ham, or dressing for a salad.

Miss Lucy’s Kitchen

Saugerties

This cozy and rustic eatery will make you feel well taken care of, and ordering the grilled peach and arugula salad is no exception to this experience. Topped with goat cheese, sunflower seeds, and a honey vinaigrette, this salad brings the essence of summer right to your mouth.

Primo Waterfront

Newburgh

If you’re looking for a drink with notes of peach, Primo Waterfront has you covered. If you order the NY strip steak entrée, pair it with Hudson North Cider’s Peach Mango for a refreshing libation. If you go for one of the pasta dishes, such as the bucatini Bello or sweet sausage gnocchi, pair it with sparkling prosecco, which includes hints of white peach and green apple. For a more refined taste, opt for the pinot grigio, a perfect blend of peach, lemon, and nectarine, or the chardonnay, which combines peach and ripe apple.

Shadows on the Hudson

Poughkeepsie

When searching for a one-of-a-kind peach dish, look no further than Shadows on the Hudson. Situated on a cliff 40 feet above the Hudson River, this fine dining spot will make for an unforgettable experience. For a healthy and hearty entrée, order the seared French-cut chicken breast with a sweet peach chili sauce and sautéed green beans, bell peppers, Fresno chiles, jasmine rice, and micro cilantro.

The Greens Restaurant

Craryville

A farm-to-table eatery located on the grounds of Copake Country Club, The Greens Restaurant offers stunning views and delectable dishes that use peaches in a simple, yet elegant manner. Start your meal off strong with the peaches and burrata dish, which includes baby greens, citrus, and pistachios. If you’re looking to pair your dish with a peach-inspired drink, try the peachy tea cocktail, a blend between Evan Williams’ peach bourbon and unsweetened ice tea. The eatery also offers a few white wine selections that spotlight peach notes. Go for the prosecco, which has notes of apple, pear, and peach; the juicy Sancerre with white peach and lemon; or the chardonnay, a summer delight with rich layers of orange blossom, peach, citrus, and a hint of pineapple.
