The Hudson Valley is a community of food lovers. More than foodies, the residents of the region are those who live and breathe food and its journey from seed to plate. They’re just as passionate about the farm-to-table movement as they are about the individuals who power it, nurture it, and allow it to grow. Across the region, local food lovers are chefs, farmers, and restaurateurs. They’re also business owners, brewers, and winemakers. They’re just as much born-and-bred Hudson Valleyites as they are newcomers to the region. Above all, they’re the movers and shakers who make the Hudson Valley’s food scene so rich and so unforgettable.
To celebrate these local food leaders, we invite you to tune into Valley Table Talk, our exclusive video series with the region’s artisans, chefs, entrepreneurs, and makers. Follow along with us on The Valley Table and @valleytable on Instagram as we share previews and announce upcoming guests.
Episode 6: Bella’s Bake Shop
With 19 seats and a top-tier French oven, Bella’s Bake Shop has quickly stolen the hearts of Hudson Valleyites from its perch in Mount Kisco. The bakery is helmed by husband-and-wife team David and Tatyana Chiappinelli, the former who was previously an army tank platoon leader in South Korea and later in the financial industry in Manhattan. At Bella’s he whips up delectable macarons, croissants, and sourdough bread using a French Pavailler oven. When paired with a cup of Counter Culture coffee, the artisanal treats keep locals coming back for more. Watch as Westchester Magazine editor John Bruno Turiano dishes on the sweet shop with Today Media digital managing editor Sabrina Sucato below, or listen to the audio on our podcast.
